The Story of How Harty's Became Excellent Pepper Jelly Makers.Originally from Tralee, County Kerry, Melanie Harty moved to the U.S. in the early nineteen eighties to further her career and enrich her knowledge of the artisan food sector. Spending several years in Washington D.C. and South Carolina, Melanie became passionate about the melting pot of ethnic cuisine synonymous with North American cooking. Following periods working within food production and distribution, Melanie became interested in using her skills to launch her very own product. She had been struck by the great taste and versatility of pepper jelly - an increasingly popular condiment that has its roots in the spicy rustic home-cooked food of Texas and the surrounding southern states. In 1993, Harty's Pepper Jelly was launched at market level in the U.S. and sold at the acclaimed Eastern market on Capitol Hill. Here, direct contact with customers helped Melanie develop important insights into emerging tastes and trends. On her return to Ireland in 1996, Melanie Harty established her own fine food restaurant - The Cookery in Tralee. As owner-manger, Melanie built up an award winning business that became internationally recognised for its high standards of delicious cuisine. After a decade of success running The Cookery, the Kerry born food entrepreneur is now producing and marketing her unique pepper jelly range across Ireland. Melanie Harty has created the perfect collection of artisan products using simple natural ingredients. Discover Harty's Pepper Jelly for yourself and experiance the exceptional taste of these unique, delectable condiments.
